CHEOLSAN4DONG 2016–2020

Cheolsan4dong is a neighborhood at the foot of Dodeoksan Mountain in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi-do. Residents began relocating for redevelopment in 2021, and demolition began in 2023. I began visiting the neighborhood in 2007 and continued to engage with the community and observe the area until 2021. I began the 〈CHEOLSAN4DONG〉 project in 2016.

The project comprises 〈CHEOLSAN4DONG PEOPLE〉, 〈CHEOLSAN4DONG PEOPLE STORY〉, 〈CHEOLSAN4DONG CHRONICLE〉, 〈CHEOLSAN4DONG NEONGKUL CHILDREN’S LIBRARY CHRONICLE〉, and 〈CHEOLSAN4DONG SADONGINE〉. 〈CHEOLSAN4DONG PEOPLE〉 is a photographic work; the others are artist books.
